Led by Dr. Sherry Tandeski, St. John Elementary has been a RoboKind partner since February of 2022. Geographically nestled between the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation and the Canadian border, the school currently serves 180 students in Pre-K through 4th grade. St. John Elementary Pre-K , 1st, and 2nd grade students are currently learning social skills and phonics from Milo, Veda, and the RoboKind virtual avatars.
“The humanoid robots from RoboKind have allowed us to teach self-regulation and calming skills to Pre-K-2nd grade students. The curriculum provides strategies we send home with them so they can practice there, as well.”
Dr. Sherry Tandeski, Principal
St. John Elementary was recently honored with the Department of Public Instruction (NDDPI) Distinguished School Award for their academic achievement and growth. Their mission of “Every Student, Every Day” drives the activities and curriculum needs within their schools on a daily basis. Balancing high expectations with the individual needs of their students, St. John Elementary is the first school in the state to use Milo and his friends to teach social skills and phonics strategies, crediting RoboKind to part of their school’s success.
