Scott Murphy joins RoboKind to further develop robots4STEM program
DALLAS – Jan. 22, 2018 – RoboKind, a leading learning company providing advanced, facially expressive social robots, announced today the hiring of Scott Murphy, National Sales Manager, to help execute new business opportunities and growth for RoboKind’s robots4STEM (R4S) initiative.
robots4STEM offers all children, regardless of gender or ethnicity, an opportunity for unlimited access to learning through a foundational coding and programming experience. Murphy will spearhead U.S. sales activities and assist in bringing the comprehensive, inclusive curriculum to elementary schools around the nation.
Murphy joins RoboKind after nearly a decade of success in the education sector, where he served as executive, regional executive, and senior executive director for Academic Partnerships, a program that assists faculty in higher education to transition traditional course material into an online format. Murphy also founded and serves as CEO at Baseline 8 Consulting, where he provides consultative sales services to B2B and B2C companies alike.
“I’m excited to continue my career in education with a company that’s committed to providing an inclusive, meaningful coding experience to all children, and help bridge the gap in STEM education for those who have been historically marginalized and underrepresented,” Murphy said. “robots4STEM is an incredibly important program to expose young students to coding and programming at an early age, fundamentally instilling the benefits of STEM education that go far beyond simple coding competency. We are actively positioning robots4STEM to impact our nation’s early learners through a renewed level of excitement, engagement, and student enrichment.”
robots4STEM aims to influence a level of learner agency that truly empowers each student and fosters a desire to aid in developing our next-generation of coders and programmers. Murphy said the R4S experience is truly second to none and will help redefine how STEM education is viewed in the classroom.
Murphy continued, “We look forward to what the future holds for R4S and are eager to share how this groundbreaking experience can significantly impact students’ critical and computational thinking skills while expanding the capacity for learning along with their overall confidence and competency in coding and programming.”
RoboKind COO Dr. Gregory Firn commented on Murphy’s hiring, “Scott is an incredible addition to our growing team. He is joining our company during an exciting time of growth and opportunity, and we look forward to the vast educational experience that Scott brings to the table.”
